He went from 16.8 to 23.6 points, his field-goal percentage climbed from 39.1% to 45.6%, and he hit 89.2% from the line while starting all 54 games he played.
He's the one who runs the offense, and the one Darryn Peterson learns next to rather than replaces.
2026-27 prediction
The scoring dips slightly with Peterson, Markkanen, and Jackson all needing touches. The assists climb, and that's the right trade. If George lands around 22 and 7 with efficient shooting and stays on the floor for 70 games, the extension already looks like good business.
